Not even the rain could keep the KOG Worldwide family away from Lovebox 2012, and it proved to be well worth it! Even though we were all near enough knee deep in mud after the week’s terrible weather, the festival was brimming with good vibes and nothing could keep us from shaking a leg.
We also caught a great performance by Merky Ace and Kozzie, and had a little chat with them for our KOGtv. Look out for that on youtube.com/KidsOfGrime.
We headed to the huge Rinse FM Stage where we were able to catch P Money, putting on an extravaganza, he was on stage at least 3 times, and each time he delivered performing his classics and hits. He also surprised us with the lovely Katy B during Skream set, a surprise which set the crowd roaring and had us all singing along. **Exclusive**We also managed to spy some of the coming P Money tees which you should keep an eye out for I’m tellin ya!!
Marcus Nasty also did his thing! GREAT set from him as always!!
The Boy Better Know collective flooded the stage later on in the evening. Joined by Griminal the collective delivered a performance that only BBK could do. Jammer was getting right into it and even took off his shirt oi oi!
We caught the beautiful Ms Dynamite too giving us a treat in the form of her old hits as well as showing off her skills with a whole range of material, with an energy that only Ms Dynamite could deliver to the crowd.
Magnetic Man, Skream, Zinc, Redlight, Plastician, Roska, N Type, Trim, Mz Bratt, Brackles & Supplier also topped the Rinse list some amazing sets coming from this bunch.
With CJ Beatz, Emily Rawson, Le Scratch, Lukey, DJ Fearney, Skinny Macho and the beautiful Yasmin – don’t forget to catch our interview with her – on the line up it’s no surprise that the Art Against Knives Tent was by far my favourite!! Banger after banger was rolling out of their little black bus no matter what time of day we passed by. Our favourite BUMP host Fontz was there too making us feel right at home. It felt just like an open rave in the middle of the afternoon – and what else do we want!!??
Bang The Box also offered great sets from Monki, Gilles Peterson, Klose One and my favourite curly haired DJ Martello. This tent was indeed a treat, if you missed it you really missed out!!
We had a good chat with a few of the organisers at the end too – didn’t catch their names – but it’s a very worthy cause you should all check it out http://www.artagainstknives.com/
All in all, I’d say – Lovebox 2013 we’ll be back and we can’t wait!!!
